December Meeting in Vancouver at Beaches: Prez Dwight has arranged for the December meeting to be at Beaches in Vancouver on Thursday Dec 3rd. Free food provided by Beaches and we are encouraged to buy beverages to help offset the free eats. How about a gag gift exchange? Bring the stuff!
Fly Out Report: Jim McClellan reported on the fly out to Auburn and Paine Field the week before. ME-262 jet on display, along with some nice WW-2 warbirds.

By-Laws Revision Report: The by laws have been revised to reflect how we have operated over the years. The class 2 and class 3 officers are dropped in favor of an executive board with chairmen and women appointed by the president and as approved by the board. Elections of the executive board members are held on the odd year, with a term of two years. The facilities manager is proposed to be a member of the board. The by-laws also include a 2nd vice president which could be a way to transition one of the two VPs into the presidents position. This also provides more coverage in the absence of the president. The membership adopted the by laws change with a unanimous vote.
Election of Officers for 2010
and 2011.
The following were proposed at the last meeting:
President Dwight Irby
1st Vice President Gary Trenner
2nd Vice President William Heath
Secretary and Webmaster Eric Hoppe
Treasurer Al Drewry
Facilities Manager Jerry Sorrell
The membership elected the officers with a unanimous vote.
Hangar Storage Space Available: Jerry Sorrell reported there is room in hangar 44 with Mark Pearson to store projects or even cars and boats. Mark is looking for some partners to help split the costs.
Kitchen upgrade. Eric Hoppe has donated a sheet metal back plate for the kitchen area. This is a new company product with almost bulletproof finish that will resist the powerful ingredients Al Drewry puts on the hamburgers.
Draw from the Pot. Mary Ann McClellan had the drawing ticket but did not get the valuable red chip in the grab for the big winnings. The pot WILL BE WON at the annual dinner.
Stories and Such: Jim and Mary Ann McClellan will have an after meeting DVD of the backwoods trail motorcycle trip from CA to WA across OR.
Mary Ann reported on the FAA safety seminar at Pearson Field. She spotted many defects in rigged plane on display. Even some defects that the company displaying the plane had not noticed. Good work! She also spoke about keeping the gas tanks topped and doing a thorough preflight of the fuel drains so as not to pull water into the engine and have a failure on takeoff.
