Important Dates -
First Thursday of the month. Be there... We will have an executive meeting at 5:ish and start the regular digs at 6:30.
Upcoming stuff
Big Al will be burning burgers and throwing some chips and beans on the side, followed up with a bit of ice cream.
Expect a raffle for some cool surprise shop stuff and we will have an official tech report.
The program will be provided by Mr. Pearson. It will be a video of a flight in a Lockheed Constellation.
Our tax filing from 2009 is complete. We have no profit to declare and we are way under the $25,000 threshold that required mucho paperwork.
Notes from Earlier Meetings- Exec or otherwise
Attending: Dwight Irby, Bill Heath, Al Drewry, Gary Trenner, Mark Edwards, Jerry Sorrell, Mark Pearson
Paid up members stands at 22.
Per Al , Bill Pieper will not apply for membership this year. His name is on the web as member at large. Jerry will ask Eric to remove the position for now.
Mark Pearson desires to see more members. Jerry will ask Eric to get a list of the nearby EAA members from headquarters and we will do another post card mailing, inviting to our chapter.
Bill Heath discussed the removal of the $50 initiation cost above the annual dues. In order to not let this be a hindrance to future members, this initial fee is suspended for now. Dues are pro rated for the year per Al.
We discussed putting EAA Sport Aviation in the local libraries. MSC we do this. Jerry has contacted HQ about the process.
Board approved that we have an appliance repair take a look at our double ovens and get that working.
Board approved top buy a dry erase bulleting board. Jerry to ask Eric if he has a source of metal that might work.
There is noting at the airport FBO about our chapter. What about a poster or flyers? At least have a poster in the window about our meeting hours. Who is doing follow up?
Mark Edwards would like to see a barbeque and our group flies in here. He is also working with Scouts for more Young Eagles rides coming up.
Execs adjourned at 6:15
Regular Meeting:
Chili Dogs, green salad, chips, ice cream and beverage for dinner. Nobody should go home hungry. Thanks to Burger Meister Al and Patty for a great meal.
Potential member Mr. Brewer has flown a Cignet from Florida to Kelso, a great adventure! There are more stories to tell here, about the trip along the way. This would be a good project to visit on the field. He is having the throttle body being worked on now.
Eric Hoppe has his project in Toledo which could be another field trip.
For the program, Dwight and Patty had a great slide show of their new place in Bermuda Dunes. Much has been done in yard work, landscaping, and finishing of the interior. The pool is being rebuilt and the hangar (the most important structure) is very spacious. Dwight now has his Decathlon there.
==================================================
The fire extinguishers are now up to date effective June 2010.
==================================================
Big Al the burgermiester happened to show up and we discussed the situation. We are not concerned with the automatic timer for cooking. Some time ago, Al could not get the ovens to work. He had not checked the ovens after they had been moved out of the way for the sheet rock work. It is possible that the moving around has cleared up the matter.
With that said, I am going to cancel
the inspection by Coles appliance. Based on my look see of
the internet , the clock deal is about $160. The Gagganeu oven
is top of the line, commercial grade.
Do you get the EAA Hotline emailed to you? If not, sign up! It is easy and free for EAA members.
Interesting stuff

This is what it takes to drive the intake exhaust port timing on a British sleeve valve engine. Better pay attention to the timing marks on the gears.
As compared to this Lycoming.

Funny Stuff
His request approved, the CNN News photographer quickly used a cell phone to call the local airport to charter a flight. He was told a twin-engine plane would be waiting for him at the airport. Arriving at the airfield, he spotted a plane warming up outside a hanger. He jumped in with his bag, slammed the door shut, and shouted, 'Let's go.' The pilot taxied out, swung the plane into the wind and took off. Once in the air, the photographer instructed the pilot, 'Fly over the valley and make low passes so I can take pictures of the fires on the hillsides.' 'Why?' asked the pilot. 'Because I'm a photographer for CNN,' he responded, 'and I need to get some close up shots.' The pilot was strangely silent for a moment. Finally he stammered, 'So, what you're telling me, is . . . You're NOT my flight instructor?'
