Prez
Sez:
My last Prez Sez:
It has been an interesting and rewarding
experience being your president the last two years. We have a
growing organization with many activities including our regular
meetings with good programs of interest, fly-in and Young Eagles
days, poker runs and fly-outs and most amazing to me is our
prolific homebuilding and restoration projects.
It takes a strong and involved membership to
keep a club moving forward and constantly improving. I am very
encouraged for the future success of the chapter because we have
such a membership. Thank you very much for your support and
enthusiasm. I'm sure things will only get better and sport
aviation has a bright future.
I look forward to seeing you all at the
annual dinner meeting. Jerry has arranged for another interesting
program this year and we have the special duty of electing new
officers to serve for the next two years.
See you then!
Jay

Since
working as a flight instructor at Pearson in the 70's, Beverly
has expanded her aviation horizons geographically. She has
flown throughout the United States and Canada, made several trips
to Alaska and also into Mexico, and flown in Argentina, Chile and
England. Her two most dramatic flights both involve
Russia. In 1995 she flew her Cessna 172 into Russia via
Alaska. While in Moscow in 1997 she flew a MiG 25 to 75,000
feet at Mach 2.4. This latter adventure is the topic of her
talk on October 4th.
October
Meeting:
The October
meeting was held at Mark Edwards shop. Marks project is a
plans built Wag Aero Cuby. As you can see in the
photos Mark is ready to start his fabric work. Workmanship is
excellent obviously many hours of coping fitting and welding
chromoly tubing. Thanks to Mark for his hospitality.
October
Program:
Eric Hoppe
presented the program this month. Eric demonstrated the use of
his hand held computer for flight operations. Software is
available to cover many aviation needs, flight planning, airport

programs are free.
