Exec Board Meeting on Wednesday, 2 August at our Clubhouse

EAA1111 Chapter MEETING at 7:00p.m., August 3rd, 2006 at Hangar A-7 Clubhouse

Next EAA chapter  meeting will be  this Thursday 7 pm at the A-6 hangar and A-7 clubhouse.

Upstairs Windows Are In
These windows created a dramatic effect in "opening up" the upstarts. No longer a black hole but a place that will be great  to relax and enjoy airplane things.

Another Work Party July 29
More was accomplished on the electrical and windows last Saturday.  We still left enough for everyone to have a part one way or another.

Tables and Chairs Being Ordered
Now that we have made the move from the FBO to the A-6 A-7 corner, it was time for the tables and chairs to be ordered. If all goes well, these will be set up in the hangar this Thursday.

Warbirds and Military Displays at Kelso Airport August 4,5,6
A repeat of last years event is underway. Come see this! Our chapter is offering the use of A-7 and as much of A-6 as will be ready, for the warbird pilots to  rest and plan. for the 3 day event.

 EAA Hangars to be Filled
Hangar 45 is now jointly shared between Gary and Fred, for their ongoing projects.
Hangar A-6 is a  Construction Zone at this time, but will soon be  available for use. With no takers and  Jerry Sorrell having turned it down, Dwight Irby has requested it.

Puyallup EAA Burger Burn August 8 @ 6 pm
This is worth the trip. A good excuse for a fly out!

Check out this radial bike shown at Oshkosh.

MINUTES

JULY 13, 2006 EAA CHAPTER 1111 MEETING

The meeting began at 7 p.m. with President Charlie Rosenzweig leading. Our new guest, Fred  desires a hangar. We need to get Fred on board as a chapter member, who is looking at a Zenith design.

Charlie reports he will go to Oshkosh this year, his first trip.

Financial:

Checking $1,644.05        Savings $11,028.01

A-7 Building

The demo work is done and the building permit still has not been processed for us. Jerry will request the city to act on this tomorrow. The City has agreed to allow us a $14,000 credit to our rent for the improvement we will be making. Charlie thanked those who worked on this agreement with the City.

Before Steve Stienhoff left, he and Al Drewry were about to install the countertop. This is the next big phase.

Charlie said we should finish out A-7 to make useable as soon as we can. Also the Warbird group has asked to use the facility for the August 4-5-6 fly in.

Hangars A-6 and #45

These are empty as of this month. Jerry has a list of our chapter members who have a future interest, but there are no immediate takers. The exec board brought a recommendation that in keeping with our EAA hangar use, we make every effort to use the hangars for EAA projects and experimental builders and not fill the hangars with commercial aircraft that may precludes the use of upcoming  experimentals.  Gary Trenner said he is going to have a need for a hangar. He and Fred will discuss a joint use of #45. ( Note, Gary on the following day left a message with Jerry Sorrell that he does want #45 beginning Aug 1.

New business, filling the VP vacancy

Per Charlie, the by-laws provide that the board of directors appoint a person to fill any board vacancy. The executive board had two candidates to discuss at their exec meeting. They were Dwight Irby and Gary Trenner. Since Dwight already holds the member at large position and is the chair for the Remodel Committee, the board therefore appointed Gary as VP.  There was no chapter opposition to this action. Welcome Gary!

A-7 Work Party

We planned on a work party on July 22nd at 9 a.m. to get the place shaped up for our next meeting and to allow the warbirds a place to meet during the fly in on Aug 4,5,6. We also talked about another work day on July 29th.

Arlington Reports

Mark Edwards thought the event was “laid back” and fewer planes than last year. There was a strong showing of the new Light Sport Aircraft (LSA).  Good aerobatic show by Kathy Hirtz, Steve Wolfe’s wife.

Oil Filters

Jim McClellan gave a list of Lycoming oil filter numbers such as 48103, 48014, 48110, 48111.   Basically they all they all work but may be of different lengths due to space between the engine and firewall.

Bev Lewis brought some great pies and the group took care of these.
